Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders

Are you interested in joining our team of neighbors helping neighbors? Want to learn first responders skills for a future career in firefighting or the medical field?

Pick up an application at Station 51 located at 149 W Buford Ave, Siletz, OR 97380.

Attend two of our Wednesday trainings. Get to know our team and get a feel for what it's like to be a volunteer first responder.

We provide you with everything you need to learn and succeed as a firefighter and emergency medical responder.

We are a member of the Central Oregon Coast Training Officers Association (COCTOA), which provides a free Firefighting academy to new recruits. The next academy starts in 2021. The Acdemy meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Siletz Valley Fire District will provide you with all education materials and transportation. This collaborative training effort also builds a brotherhood among trainers and volunteers across the whole central Oregon coast of firefighters.

We will also provide you with Emergency Medical Responder training. This certification typically takes six weeks and usually follows the Firefighter 1 academy. Training is provided in Toledo and we will provide all of your education materials and transportation.  Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Parametic training may be available for some volunteers as well.

Come by Station 51 to learn more!
